The Leather Carry Kit: Which Piece to Buy First, and What to Add Next
Five pieces from our Pure Attire collection cover the route from your desk to the departure gate: a briefcase-style backpack, a padded laptop sleeve, a long wallet, a passport cover, and a luggage tag. Here’s what each one does best, how the two leathers differ, and where it makes sense to start.
-
The Ragna BackpackOne bag for a 14-inch laptop and your day
-
The Runa Laptop SleeveProtection for the bag you already own
-
The Pathfinder WalletCards and cash, with bills kept flat
-
The Priam Passport CoverPassport, cards, and boarding pass in one place
-
The Luggage TagChecked-bag ID in three colors
Leather goods rarely get bought as a set. More often, you replace whatever is failing first—the backpack with the broken zipper, the wallet that won’t close, the passport sliding around the bottom of a carry-on—and build from there.
This guide follows that approach. Instead of ranking five very different products against each other, it covers the job each one does, what our listings say about size and layout, and the trade-offs worth knowing before you check out.
Before you choose
The leather, explained
Three pieces in this kit—the Ragna, the Pathfinder, and the Priam—are made from crazy horse leather. Despite the name, it’s cowhide: full-grain leather that’s buffed and finished with wax for an aged, vintage look. The wax helps protect the leather from moisture, and it gives crazy horse its signature trait: rub or scratch the surface, and the color shifts a shade or two instead of snapping back. Over time, those marks build into a worn-in character that’s different on every piece.
The Runa sleeve and the luggage tag are listed as full-grain leather, which comes from the top layer of the hide and keeps its natural grain. Both are described as developing a patina with use, and the Runa’s leather is also described as water-resistant and scratch-resistant.
You’ll probably love crazy horse if…
you like gear that shows where it’s been. Scuffs, rubs, and color shifts are part of the look, not a flaw to fix.
Think it over if…
you want a finish that stays exactly the way it arrived. Crazy horse leather is meant to change as you use it.
Either wayExpect some variation. Our listings note that natural hides differ, so color and texture can vary slightly from piece to piece. Two pieces bought together may not be an exact match.
Part one
For the workday
A bag for the commute, protection for your laptop, and a wallet with room for cards and cash.
The Ragna Backpack
Best for: one bag that carries a 14-inch laptop and the rest of your day
The Ragna is the anchor of the kit: a backpack with the clean, squared-off lines of a briefcase, made from crazy horse leather and listed as 100% handmade. Up front, an L-shaped flap with snap closures and a small snap pocket give it a distinctive profile.
Inside, it’s organized rather than cavernous. The listing describes a main compartment with a laptop slip pocket and a zippered pocket, a second compartment with additional pockets, and an exterior compartment for smaller essentials. Carry it by the leather-lined grab handle or on the adjustable shoulder straps; the padded back is designed to spread weight evenly.

Good to knowThe laptop compartment is listed for 14-inch laptops. If you carry a 15- or 16-inch machine, compare its measurements with the bag’s before you order. Each bag is made from natural leather, so color varies slightly from one to the next.
The Runa Leather Laptop Sleeve
Best for: protecting your laptop inside the bag you already own
Not ready to replace your bag? The Runa is the simplest way to bring leather into your workday. It’s a slim full-grain sleeve with a soft polyester lining, protective padding, and padded corners, and it closes with a flap and strap—no zippers, no magnets. Slip it into a tote, briefcase, or backpack, or carry it on its own.
Choosing a size
Each size name is an upper limit, so go by the model list rather than your screen size alone:
- 15-Inch Sleeve (listed at 14.2 × 10.5 in): slim laptops up to 15 inches. The listing names the 14- and 15-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air, Dell XPS 13, 13.5-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop, 14-inch Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and 13.5-inch HP Spectre x360.
- 13-Inch Sleeve (listed at 12 × 8.75 in): tablets and smaller laptops up to 13 inches. The listing names the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Surface Pro 8 and 9, Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, and slim Chromebooks under 13 inches.
Note that the 13-inch MacBook Air appears under the 15-Inch Sleeve. If your model isn’t listed, compare your laptop’s width and depth with the sleeve measurements, or email us at info@ornareliving.com before you order.

Good to knowOur listings don’t say whether a laptop in the Runa fits the Ragna’s laptop pocket, so think of them as alternatives: the Ragna if you’re replacing your bag, the Runa if you’re keeping it.
The Pathfinder Bifold Wallet
Best for: carrying cash and a full set of cards, with bills kept flat
The Pathfinder is a long wallet, and its length is the point. At a listed 7.3 × 3.5 × 0.8 inches, it has room for a full-length bill pocket—a U.S. bill is about 6.1 inches long—so your cash never has to be folded to fit.
Inside, the listing describes 11 card slots, an ID window, two large pockets, a large compartment, and a zippered inner pocket for coins or anything you want kept secure. It opens along the top edge for quick access to cards and cash, and its crazy horse leather develops a personalized finish as you use it.

Good to knowThis is a bigger wallet than a typical back-pocket billfold. If that’s what you carry now, compare the measurements before you order.
Part two
For the trip
Two small pieces that bring a little order to airport days.
Priam Handmade Leather Passport Cover
Best for: keeping your passport, cards, and boarding pass together
The Priam keeps the travel documents you reach for most in one slim cover: a passport pocket, two card slots, and a larger pocket beneath the card slots for a boarding pass, cash, or receipts. At a listed 3.9 × 5.5 × 0.3 inches and 0.13 pounds, it’s made to slip into a pocket or bag.
It’s made from full-grain cowhide crazy horse leather, which the listing describes as vegetable-tanned, and it’s hand-stitched, with contrast stitching along the edges. Between trips, it can also serve as an everyday card wallet.

Good to knowRFID blocking isn’t listed among its features. And because each cover is handmade from natural hides, the listing notes slight differences in color and texture from piece to piece.
Full Grain Leather Luggage Tag
Best for: the quickest upgrade in the kit, and an easy gift
It’s the smallest piece here and the easiest to put to work. The tag is handcrafted from full-grain leather and attaches to a luggage handle with an adjustable leather strap and brass buckle. Its ID window is covered, so your contact details aren’t on display.
Choose brown, dark brown, or black to match your suitcase, or pick the shade that makes your bag easiest to spot on the carousel.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Is crazy horse leather real leather?
Yes. Despite the name, it’s cowhide: full-grain leather that’s buffed and finished with wax for an aged look. Rubs and scratches shift the color a shade or two, and over time those marks build into a worn-in finish.
Will the pieces match each other?
Expect them to coordinate rather than match exactly. Natural hides vary, and our listings note slight differences in color and texture from piece to piece. The Ragna, Pathfinder, and Priam use waxed crazy horse leather, while the Runa and the luggage tag are listed as full-grain leather.
Which Runa size fits my laptop?
Go by the model list on the product page rather than the size name. The 15-Inch Sleeve (14.2 × 10.5 in) is listed for slim laptops up to 15 inches, including the 13-inch MacBook Air and the 14-inch MacBook Pro. The 13-Inch Sleeve (12 × 8.75 in) is listed for tablets and smaller laptops up to 13 inches, such as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. If your device isn’t listed, compare its measurements with the sleeve’s, or email us.
Will a 15- or 16-inch laptop fit in the Ragna?
The Ragna’s laptop compartment is listed for 14-inch laptops, and larger sizes aren’t listed. Compare your laptop’s measurements with the bag’s, or email us before you order.
How should I care for the leather?
The care notes on our Runa listing are a sensible starting point: wipe the leather with a dry or slightly damp cloth, apply a leather conditioner occasionally, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or moisture. For questions about a specific piece, email us.
Where can I find shipping and return details?
Shipping costs, delivery estimates, and return eligibility are covered in our shipping policy and refund policy, and some details can vary by product. Review those pages and the product page before checkout, or email info@ornareliving.com with questions.
Are these pieces available in the U.S.?
All five were listed for U.S. shoppers when we reviewed this guide in October 2026, but stock and delivery options can change. Each product page and checkout show current availability.
