What Each Ingredient Does

Cucumber Glycerol Extract (4%) is the formula's signature ingredient. Unlike pure glycerin, this extract combines the humectant properties of vegetable glycerin with the cooling, astringent, and skin-calming qualities of organic cucumber. It reduces tack, feels lighter on the skin, and is particularly well-suited to the eye area where heavy or sticky textures are unwelcome.

EmulsiGel Eco (2%) forms the gel base — a plant-derived, cold-processable emulsifier and thickener that creates a soft, spreadable gel texture without silicones or synthetic polymers.

Argan Oil (6%), Camellia Seed Oil (2%), and Pomegranate Seed Oil (1%) provide the formula's lipid layer. Argan's oleic and linoleic balance nourishes and softens. Camellia brings a silky, lightweight finish ideal for the periorbital area. Pomegranate adds punicic acid — a rare conjugated fatty acid associated with skin renewal.

Eco Marine Algae Extract (2%) supports skin firmness and delivers trace minerals. Vitamin E (2%) protects both the formula's oils and the skin from oxidative damage. Preservative 12 (1%) ensures microbial stability in this water-containing formula.

Elemi (0.5%) and Galbanum (0.25%) essential oils complete the formula — both are valued in anti-ageing facial care for their skin-firming and clarifying properties, and both have gentle enough profiles for use in the periorbital area at these concentrations.

The Recipe

Cucumber Eye Serum
Yield: 100g — scale as needed

Stage 1 (above 75°C)
Boiled Spring Water — 79.25g
Cucumber Glycerol Extract — 4g
EmulsiGel Eco — 2g

Stage 2 (room temperature)
Argan Oil — 6g
Camellia Seed Oil — 2g
Pomegranate Seed Oil — 1g

Stage 3 (below 40°C)
Eco Marine Algae Extract — 2g
Vitamin E — 2g
Preservative 12 — 1g
Elemi Essential Oil — 0.5g
Galbanum Essential Oil — 0.25g
Total: 100g

Method:

Mix the EmulsiGel Eco with the Cucumber Glycerol Extract, then add to the hot water. Stick blend until thickened. Add the combined Stage 2 oils to Stage 1 and stick blend briefly to combine. Cool in a pan of cold water while stirring with a spatula. Once below 40°C, add Stage 3 ingredients and stir thoroughly. Transfer to jars and label.

How to Use It

Apply a small amount around the orbital bone using the ring finger, pressing gently into the skin. Use morning and evening on clean skin before moisturiser. Consistent use over four to six weeks delivers the most visible results.
